Small Dotted Buff was the first here since 2011 and was the best of a large catch overnight.A slightly worn Agapeta zoegana was also the first record here for 4 years. Silky Wainscot and Oak Hook-tip are both annual in small numbers.

241 moths of 86 species was an improvement on the previous night with several new for the year and one new for the garden list - a rather battered Square-spotted Clay. The first Copper Underwing of the year is confusing - the underwing seems to show it as pyramidea but the palps point to berbera. I'm going to anaesthetise the moth and try for some better shots of the underwing and post the results later.

29th June 2009 - macros

A very busy night produced a frantic morning as I tried to process all the moths in the MV before leaving for work. Just about the first moth out of the trap was a Scarce Silver-lines - new for the garden. In all there were 11 new for the year and several micros remain to be identified.
