A beautiful, freshly-emerged Double Square-spot was one of the highlights from last night and, as usual, I tried very hard to string it into Triple-spotted Clay. A good look at the hindwing proved it to be DS-spot however.

A few day-flying species in the garden today despite it being overcast and blustery. Pyrausta aurata was the first of the year and several Glyphipterix simpliciella were in the open flowers of a Dwarf Mock Orange. On the same shrub was a female Adela reaumurella, just the second garden record of this species.

42 species across both traps was easily the mos productive session so far with lots of species new for the year and with the second and third garden records of Light Brocade.
